Why real estate appraisers do not advertise their business?

I looked for a real estate appraiser when I was buying a house a few months ago. I was so surprised to find out that none of them advertise their business on newspaper, or radio, or magazine (unlike realtors, brokers, loan officers). Why is it such a quiet business?
